Ghajn Tuffieha is Golden Bay’s sister beach. It’s in fact also located in the north-western part of the island, just a couple hundred meters away from it. It’s easy to be reached, but not so to be accessed, since there’s quite a lot of climb down to do (over 100 steps). It’s popular among couples and young people, local and tourists alike. Please note that, although such practice is technically illegal in Malta, there might be nude sunbathers sometimes. It’s usually not as crowded as its sister, but nevertheless it also offers certain facilities (cafe, restaurant). A cold drink booth can also be found on the top of the hill, near the parking lot. If you do not wish to leave a tip to the man who’ll vigorously ask you for it there, just park your vehicle outside of the parking area. A stop there is highly recommended, no matter whether you plan to stop at the beach or not, since the view is one of the best in Malta, especially at sunset.
It’s secluded in a bay, which makes it usually very safe for swimming, also in the days when rough water is experienced elsewhere (IE in Ghar Lapsi). Water is crystal clear and offers a decent setting for snorkeling also. The surrounding area is great for walkers, with a lot of tracks to explore; one of those can take you to golden bay directly (about 20 minutes walk)
